Fitness Ventures was founded in 2016 with two Crunch Fitness locations, one in Athens, Georgia and one in Amarillo, Texas. What started as a proof of concept in two college towns has become the largest franchisee in the Crunch Fitness system: 115 locations across 30 states, serving close to 1M members.
From the Ground Up
Growth came in phases. The first four years were about building the foundation, proving the model, developing repeatable systems, and opening clubs across the South and Midwest. From 2022 onward, the pace accelerated as the operating infrastructure scaled to support 11 to 12 new clubs per year across the country. In 2024, the company partnered with Meaningful Partners, a firm based in Los Angeles and Austin that invests in purposeful consumer businesses across health, performance, and well-being.
The M&A Engine
Fitness Ventures is one of the only operators in the Crunch system with a proven M&A capability, and one with a longer track record than most realize. The company completed its first acquisition in 2022, bringing four Crunch locations in Louisville, Kentucky onto the platform. That early transaction became the testing ground for the integration playbook that now powers every deal. In 2025, the company acquired seven locations across Portland, Oregon and South Texas. Then came the largest transaction to date: the acquisition of Harman Fitness in early 2026, adding 23 Crunch locations across Southern California and greater Houston in a single deal. In total, M&A has added 34 clubs across three transactions, each one larger than the last.
From Acquisition to Acceleration
Fitness Ventures brings a fully built operating platform to every acquired location: centralized marketing, technology infrastructure, revenue management systems, and a playbook refined across 80+ de novo openings. Acquired clubs don't just change ownership, they change trajectory. With a target of 20+ locations every year M&A runs in parallel with continued new club development, and each deal gets faster, smoother, and bigger than the one before it.
